    Steven knew he could never have Gloria Mae, but he still dreamed of Glory. Raised in a brothel, Steven tried to be a better man. With the help of his mother, who ran the brothel, he set out to build a ranch of his own. He planned the land, the house, and the barns, just never planned for Glory to come in an show him love and home.Glory married at seventeen after the death of her father. Her father was the local reverand, and he stepped in front of a bullet to save the madam of the local brothel. Her husband was not the man she thought he was, and Steven hid her in his room at the bothel after finding her beaten, with a knife in her hands, her husband dead, and the house on fire.With the help of the ladies at the Rainbow House, Glory learns more about how they ended up there, and to learn more about forgiveness and tolerance. They in turn, learn about the power of prayer, and love is possible.This is a very good story. Set in the old West, it shows some of the hardships of life at the time.

    Overall i liked the book. It was a fairly light read , considering the harsh issues involved, such as domestic violence. The strength of the book is the relationship between the main characters. The mystery (who shot Glorys husband) is only briefly discussed and quickly resolved.
